It Makes Me Happy

My new red pants.
Sunflowers from Keith for no reason.
And champagne in a red, white and blue bottle. He knows me so well!
Bath time with our friends.. I think everyone is all covered up!
 Random pillow/mattress/blanket fun my boy.
A kid free dinner. Polenta topped with Italian sausage, tomatoes, cannelloni beans and basil. It was awesome despite the paper plate.
The most delicious wine I have had in a while. And it was on super sale at Schnucks. :)
 Oh and this guy...

Finger Painting

I found this idea on pinterest the other day.
http://deborahgilbert42.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/capris-valentine-craft/
I liked the idea but I really didn't like the finished product.
On Sunday morning the three of us headed to Michael's with the project in mind.
We ended up buying some finger paints, a white canvas and wooden letters in Liam's initials.
We came home and set up a painter's tarp in the front yard and let Liam go to town. He loved it. He ended up using the spoon more than his fingers, but got dirty enough to make you think differently.
I absolutely loved the finished product, so much that I don't think I am going to add the monogram. I am pretty sure we will be hanging it in the bedroom above the dresser.
Here it is:

Our Mini Vacation

We enjoyed a little time away last week. After the 4th, Keith and I took vacation Thursday and Friday. We had two and a half days with the bug and then two days on our own.

4th of July was hot and sticky as it usually is. We headed to the Webster parade. Liam actually seemed interested in everything that was going on around him for the first 30 minutes or so. The rest of the time was spent chasing after him. I know next year we will be front and center as he tries to collect as much candy as possible.
Warning: Picture overload!
Later that evening we went to my mom's and enjoyed some "pool" time and a BBQ. What a bummer that the fireworks were cancelled. I really hope they decide to set them off another day so Liam can have his first experience.
On Thursday we headed to the zoo early to make sure we saw the new sea lion sound before it got to crazy. Very cool!
Liam enjoyed the train ride.
And thoroughly enjoyed the carousal.
Later that afternoon we headed to Tilles park to play in the water.
I think after two big days, Liam was exhausted. He had a tough time going to bed so we decided to take it easy on Friday just playing around the house.
We dropped Liam with the babysitter around 1:30 and headed downtown. Keith and I booked a room at the Marriot for the weekend and it was straight to the pool. The rest of our little weekend away included, Baileys Range, Cardinals game, more pool, Rosalita's, casino, Four Season's rooftop bar, more casino, and The Bridge. It was really nice to have a weekend just Keith and I. (although we did meet up  with friends on Friday night.)

Is it bad I look this happy to be baby free?!

Next adventure on the horizon: 4 days at Table Rock Lake with Keith's family, immediately followed by 4 days at the Lake of the Ozarks with friends. Is it bad I am already ready for my next vacation?!

Randoms

I know I haven't posted in a while but that's because there is really nothing "substantial" going on. Here is a random list/re-cap of everything going on since my last post.

1. Water baby! Liam has found his love for water/swimming and he is not afraid at all. We went to Innsbrook two weekends ago where he played in the baby and big pool for about 3 hours. He is loving the baby pool over at my dad's house. We had a friend's 30th we attended last weekend where he spend almost 4 hours in and out of the water.
Swimming at my dad's for the first time - so happy!
Passed out in just a swim diaper on the way home from the pool. (He looks so big here!)

2. Running. I have picked up running, well I say that loosely, but I am definitely doing a lot more running than I was 5 weeks ago (None!). I have started waking up 2-3 days a week at 5:30 and trying to get a 20-30 minute jog in. I can really feel a difference in the days I do jog vs. the days I don't. I have so much more energy and just feel better overall.

3. AC. Our air conditioning went out about 10 days ago which just happened to be the hottest day of the year, followed by the hottest, and the hottest and the hottest. UGH! It is hot. After 4 days with no AC we finally had the unit replaced on Thursday around 4 and the house was up to 96 degrees. Thank goodness my mom works at Trane and we got a huge discount on a new one.

4. 4th of July. We are heading to face the heat tomorrow and attend the Webster parade. Since the fireworks were cancelled this year, we are not doing much more than that. A little BBQ with the family and then I am sure we are heading to bed. We have a big couple of days after that. (See #5)
My 4th of July project. Didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but it is better than nothing.

5. "Time-Off". Keith and I are off work tomorrow and then taking Thursday and Friday as vacation. We plan to have some good Liam time; zoo, Grant's Farm, pool, etc. Then we are dropping him with grandma on Friday and heading downtown. We have a hotel room for the weekend and will be baby free till Sunday afternoon. So far the weekend plans, Bailey's Range, Cardinals Game, Fireworks, Pool, Lunch, Afternoon Drinking and Casino, Dinner, Fireworks, etc. I AM SO EXCITED!

6. House Update. The house is still on the market. We have had a ton of showings but still no bites. We are thinking after our open house this weekend, we might have to talk about what we want to do moving forward. Might need to take it off the market for now, save some more money and then put it back on with a price reduction later. More info to come.

7. And just one more picture for the day:
